It was all about mud. It rained during the night while the 24 hour lot were riding and the mud was so thick by the time the 6 and 12 hour events started, it was like riding in foot-deep porridge in places. It gradually dried out as the day wore on but there were some stretches that stayed treacherous to the end. Those of us who whose faces ended up in the mud, agreed that real porridge tastes better. WAMOs had a 12 hour team and Shane Easton doing the 12 hour solo. There were a few more WAMOs in the two Mountain to Road Cycles teams.
The 12 hour WAMOs mixed team was Brendan Haigh, Amanda Haigh, Andy O'Regan, Eric Van der Wel, and Tui Allen. They completed 18 laps
Star WAMO, Shane Easton, did the 12 hour solo and made us proud as usual. He completed 17 laps for 5th in his category - a fantastic effort!.
